You know those moments that are completely encapsulated by stress?

Yeah, those.

Those seem to compose the majority of my life lately.

This sounds trivial and, in all honesty, lame, but homework is all I have time to do. Ever. And that stresses me out.

In the very midst of those moments it seems nearly impossible to recall the promises that have been freely given to us.  Promises such as:

“Peace I leave with you; my peace I give you. I do not give to you as the world gives. Do not let your hearts be troubled and do not be afraid.”

-John 14:27

“May the Lord of peace himself give you peace at all times and in every way. The Lord be with all of you.”

-2 Thessalonians 3:16

“Do not be anxious about anything, but in everything, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God. And the peace of God, which transcends all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus.”

-Philippians 4:6-7

“My comfort in my suffering is this: Your promise preserves my life.”

-Psalm 119:50

It astonishes me to realize how easily and effortlessly we are able to regain strength and perseverance by simply resting in the Lord’s promises of comfort.

My prayer for anyone that stumbles across this post is that you will be encouraged and comforted by the Lord in regards to wherever you may be in your life. Take a breather to sit in His presence and I can promise you that you will begin to see light at the end of the tunnel.
